Upton travelled to top of the table Wanderers without 4 first team regulars and matters were made worse after 20 minutes when Fly half Dan Keyte again left the field with injury.
By this stage though Worcester were already 10-0 up after a penalty from Sparrey and then a try in the corner, which Spareey converted after good recycling down the blindside.
Worcester starved Upton of possesion early on but the Upton forwards rucked feriouscly to pressurise the home team.
Eventually Wandrers search for more space led to an interception try from wing Will Carr who took the ball inside his own half and ran the length of the field to make the score 10-5.
The game swang on the last two minutes of the first half. Upton missed a kickable penalty which would have made the score 10-8 and Wanderers capitalised by moving downfield and running a simple move in the Upton 22. a missed tackle allowed McLaughlin to break through before slipping a pass to his support for a try under the posts which Sparrey converted to make the half time score 17-5.
With heads a little down after a sloppy end to the half Upton conceded two quick tries at the start of the second half to make the score, both converted, to make the score 31-5.
However Upton continued to battle hard and at last started to get some well earned possesion of the ball. First Pimlow ran the ball in from half way, rounding his opposite number before slicing between the the wing and full back for a try and then an Upton scrum on the Wanderers 5 metre line led to Matt Jefferies on the blindside flank picking the ball up and charging over for another try, which Mike Dodge converted to make the score 31-17.
Smelling a chance to get back into the game Upton started to play with width but as they tried to force the game their mistakes were capitalised on by Wanderers who manged two late tries from turn over ball. Both tries were converted to make the final score 45-17.
