Firstly may I say WELL DONE to all the players who turned up for the match on Sunday 6th January 2008. For some of our players this was their first match. We played 2 matches in total, first one was against Halesowen and we played 6 mins each way. This game was very even, although for the first half we certainly had more control and deserved to win, however the game ended in a draw of 3/3.

The second game was against Camp Hill who were a well established team and for the majority of the game they dominated (which is not surprising as they had 7 players against our 6). Our team spirits were down at the end of the first half but we fought bravely and with great determination and style ended up scoring another 2 tries, the last one being the highlight of the game and applauded by everyone, but our efforts were in vain and we lost 7-3.

During the games I had a lot of feedback from the other coaches and they were very impressed with our team especially the 2 youger players (Harry and Cameron who are not yet 6) and our final try of the second game. Try scorers for the games were Dylan, Keelan, Oliver, Lewis.

I personally enjoyed myself and although some children were not only too cold but did not want to play due to nerves, those who did enjoyed the experience. The game also gave us the opportunity to see each players individual skills which will no doubt help us at the next game.
